Baked Bulgur Balls With Aromatic Spice & Persian Lime

These delicious baked bulgar balls are crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. They are very simple to make and with only 4 main ingredients needed.

To make them gluten-free, simply replace bulgur with rice :)

You Will Need:
  • 2 cups bulgur (or rice for GF version)
  • 1/2 jar Gheymeh - Persian Recipe Base
  • 8 pitted prunes (or apricots)
  • 3 tbsp chickpeas flour
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley (optional)
  • Spray oil

Directions:
1- Cook the bulgur base using the packaging instructions and transfer it to a strainer. Make sure it doesn’t have excess liquid.

2- Mix the cooked bulgur, Exotic Bazaar's Gheymeh sauce, chickpea flour and chopped parsley. The ingredients should hold together.

*add extra chickpea flour if needed to help bind the ingredients together.

3- Line a baking tray with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 180C (fan-forced)

4- Spoon the bulgur mix and flatten into the palm of your hand. Insert a prune or apricot in the middle and fold over the mixture to form a ball shape.

5- Place the bulgur balls on the baking tray and spray them with olive oil.

6- In a preheated oven, bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden coloured.

7- Serve with salad and pickles of your choice.
