This is by far our families favourite spice, Exotic Bazaar's blend is delicious! Very aromatic and no heat, just tasty. We just had it on roast lamb and potato and carrots. So good!
The first thing you notice is the heavenly smell of the rosewater upon opening the bottle. Heady perfume scent WITHOUT the chemical back taste like so many other brands.
The mix is to die for. Do NOT be fooled. While simple in its ingredients, it is easy to mess up.
Make sure everything is at room temp. That goes for your egg, yoghurt etc. You need that emulsification to happen and anything cold will just mess it up.
Cardamom is the strongest aroma you will experience upon opening your pack, however once baked the subtle almond and saffron flavours come through.
Really do wait until the cake is cold before icing. So worth it!
Don't refrigerate this cake. You'll dry it out. Once properly cooked and iced, wrap in baking paper and foil. Keep in a cool cupboard. It will be as moist in 2 days as it was the day you baked it.

I cooked the cake for the family for Father's Day 2024. The cake was delicious and moist. Easy to bake. Everyone loved the cake. I added hold leaf for extra sparkle.
