Perfect as a side dish or a snack on their own, these chips are easy to make and bursting with flavour.

Ingredients:

  • 4 large potatoes (Russet or any starchy variety)
  • 2 tbsp Exotic Bazaar’s Harissa spice blend
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh parsley or coriander, chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • Yoghurt or garlic aioli (optional, for dipping)

Instructions for Oven:

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare the potatoes: Wash and peel the potatoes if preferred, then cut them into evenly sized chips. You can choose thick-cut or thinner fries depending on your preference.

  3. Season the chips: In a large mixing bowl, toss the potato slices with olive oil, Exotic Bazaar’s Harissa spice blend, and salt until the chips are evenly coated.

  4. Bake the chips: Spread the seasoned chips out on the prepared baking tray in a single layer. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through to ensure both sides get crispy. They’re done when golden brown and crispy on the edges.

  5. Garnish and serve: Remove from the oven, sprinkle with fresh herbs if using, and serve hot with a dip of your choice.

Instructions for Air Fryer:

  1. Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 180°C (350°F).

  2. Prepare the potatoes: Wash, peel (optional), and slice the potatoes into chips as above.

  3. Season the chips: Toss the potato slices in a bowl with olive oil, Exotic Bazaar’s Harissa spice blend, and salt.

  4. Air fry the chips: Arrange the chips in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Depending on your air fryer size, you may need to do this in batches. Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.

  5. Garnish and serve: Once golden and crispy, sprinkle with fresh parsley or coriander, and enjoy with your favourite dip!

Tips:

  • For extra crispiness, soak the potato slices in cold water for 30 minutes before seasoning. Pat dry completely before adding the oil and Harissa.
  • These Harissa-spiced chips pair perfectly with a cool yoghurt dip or garlic aioli to balance the heat!

Say goodbye to plain old fries and give your chips a spicy makeover with Exotic Bazaar’s Harissa. The perfect blend of smoky, spicy, and fragrant, these chips will be a hit at any gathering or as a snack to treat yourself.
